20-Hour Live TEFL Practicum
Course Overview
- Our 20-hour Live TEFL Practicum is delivered via live training on Zoom with one of our qualified, and highly experienced teacher trainers. We offer both weekday and weekend schedules.
- Throughout the practicum, you’ll explore a range of essential teaching topics. The sessions are dynamic, supportive, and engaging, designed to leave you feeling inspired and confident as you learn.
- You’ll also take part in guided teaching practice, receiving live feedback and support from an experienced trainer. This hands‑on experience helps you bridge the gap between theory and real classroom teaching.
- Note: this practicum is designed to enhance your TEFL training and build practical confidence, but it does not, on its own, qualify you to teach. It is intended to complement a full TEFL certification.

Course Content
Across this 20‑hour live practicum, you’ll take part in a series of interactive, trainer‑led sessions designed to build your confidence and practical teaching skills. You will:
- Participate in live methodology workshops covering essential TEFL topics
- Explore classroom management, student engagement, lesson staging, and digital teaching tools
- Work through practical tasks that help you apply new techniques immediately
- Prepare and deliver short lessons as part of your guided teaching practice
- Observe your peers and take part in reflective discussions
- Build real classroom confidence through hands‑on, supportive practice.
During the practicum, you will teach two short lessons (15–20 minutes each) in a supportive, trainer‑led environment. Your trainer will observe your teaching, provide live feedback on the day, and prepare a personalised teaching practice report highlighting your strengths and areas for development. This report is a valuable document you can share with prospective employers and use to guide your continued growth as a teacher.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. TEFL Avenues is a CPD-accredited training provider in the UK and this course is fully accredited by the CPD Group. CPD (Continuing Professional Development) accreditation means the training has been independently reviewed to ensure it meets recognised standards for quality, structure, and learner support.
This gives you a professionally credible certificate that employers trust and reassures you that your TEFL training is high‑quality, up‑to‑date, and designed to prepare you confidently for real teaching roles
Yes! When you complete the course, you’ll receive a TEFL Avenues digital certificate that also features the CPD Group’s accredited logo. This certificate confirms your supervised teaching practice and strengthens your TEFL profile, especially for employers who value real, hands‑on classroom experience.
You’ll also receive a personalised teaching report from your trainer. This highlights what you did well, the practical skills you demonstrated, and the progress you made. It’s a confidence‑boosting document you can share with employers to show you’re classroom‑ready and professionally trained.
Although not a standalone TEFL qualification, this certificate is best used as an add‑on to strengthen your TEFL profile by proving you’ve completed real, supervised teaching practice and received professional feedback.
You can use this certificate to enhance applications for a wide range of entry‑level opportunities, including online tutoring platforms, community centres, adult‑learning programmes, NGOs, refugee support organisations, volunteer teaching projects, after‑school clubs, etc. Employers value the practical element, and your personalised teaching report helps demonstrate your readiness to work with real students.
The 20‑hour Live TEFL Practicum is delivered via Zoom. You can choose from weekday or weekend sessions, with timings designed to accommodate learners across different time zones.

Not at all. This course is suitable for new and aspiring TEFL teachers who would like to gain some practical classroom skills before teaching their first TEFL class!
However, this course was designed to complement the 120-hour Online TEFL Course offered by TEFL Avenues, or any other TEFL course without a practical component. It is an opportunity for you to put theory into practice!
To ensure you receive the best training possible, we keep classroom sizes to a maximum of 14 participants per course.
